Jonathan Joseph Peters, a former Project Runway contestant, and local fashion designer Jess Abernethy joined me in studio to talk about the debut of their new store “Nude,” which will feature locally designed clothing and accessories.
The brand-new boutique at the newly renovated Arcade (aka the oldest mall in the US!), can be best described as this: One store six designers; Exposing local talent.
In addition to Peters and Abernethy – includes fashion designers Sarah Prost, Susan Troy and Amy Stetkiewicz, as well as Kent Stetson who designs handbags that are actually more like art that you carry.
The grand opening will be Saturday, November 16 from 5-9 p.m. where the entire atrium of the Providence Arcade will be turned into a runway.

For many, staring into a closet and thinking ‘there’s nothing to wear!’ is a very familiar thought. But now, thanks to the talented Jess Abernethy — a Providence-based fashion designer — there’s hope! Check out the custom-made dress she made me (insert big grin!)!

The fashion industry is not just cautious of the environment; reusing and recycling is acutally becoming a stylish trend. Local fashion designer Jonathan Joseph Peters joined me in studio to show some of his eco-friendly picks.
